BlueEis und SCHÄFER Sim Engineering

BlueEis and SCHÄFER Sim Engineering

What is the connection between BlueEis and SCHÄFER Sim Engineering?

Even though the two names don't suggest it, they are closer than you might think.

BlueIce

In September 2022, under the Twitch username BlueEis, the sim racing "career" began with the driver name Ed Eismann. It should be memorable and fit with the Twitch channel. Shortly afterwards, the YouTube channel of the same name was added, which was primarily about stream highlights and how-to's / tutorials such as the DIY Sim Rig Tutorial , which has now become a whole video series. So over the past 2 years, everything related to the blue ice was built up. The first year and a half was almost exclusively about the simulation Assetto Corsa Competizione within the Low Fuel Motorsport Community. Since the end of 2023, the switch has been made to iRacing for an indefinite period. It remains to be seen how new simulations such as Le Mans Ultimate, Rennsport and Assetto Corsa Evo will continue to change and develop the future of sim racing.

SCHÄFER Sim Engineering

2 years later, in September 2024, the time had come and the company's own website or sim racing online shop was ready with the first products: Sim Flag, LED Brows, Wind Sim and the GT Print steering wheel. Since BlueEis was always about gaming, streaming, YouTube and therefore about the person themselves, the name was separated from the shop. Because here it is about topics such as sim racing hardware / accessories, DIY 3D printing projects and in the future perhaps even more such topics. So, as the name suggests, SCHÄFER Sim Engineering is about technology.

How did SCHÄFER Sim Engineering come about?

As a full-time mechanical engineer who has always enjoyed designing, it was actually logical that he would also try his hand at making his own hardware and other accessories. All that was missing was a 3D printer that would then make the CAD designs a reality. This was then purchased in October 2023. So nothing stood in the way of manufacturing his own products.

Are DIY projects and 3D printers suitable for everyone?

Basically yes! If you are a complete beginner and have never done anything like this before, it might take a little longer to reach your goal, but the instructions for the Sim Racing DIY projects are structured step by step, so you don't need any previous knowledge and are not left to your own devices.

You don't need your own 3D printer either. You can also order the components from a 3D printing service, so you can start without one. If you enjoy the whole thing, you can always buy the 3D printer afterwards. Many of the current 3D printers are now very user-friendly, so you can actually start right away without having to invest a lot of time in setting them up and configuring them.

That's why DIY projects are so good!

It's simple: at the end you not only have a product that you have put together yourself, but you also know it from A to Z and you are smarter afterwards. The learning curve will be the biggest, especially with the first DIY projects, when you are not yet very familiar with the subject.
